Skatepark of San Marcos

This website will focus on the Skatepark of San Marcos featuring the park itself as well as the obstacles I enjoy skating recently.

My name is Campbell Stropp and I am a student at Texas State University in San Marcos, TX. I am originally from Austin, TX. I decided to make my project about the skatepark of San Marcos because my opinion has changed so drastically on the park in the past few months. Originally I didn’t enjoy it and thought the layout was too awkward. As I skate there more I’m learning how to flow better throughout the park and create new routes. Now each time I go I have more fun than the last.

Welcome to my website dedicated to the Skatepark of San Marcos! This page will give my personal thoughts on the skatepark as well as my favorite aspects of the park. Skatepark of San Marcos has a unique layout and an amazing community around it. Over my time here in San Marcos I have grown an appreciation for the skatepark. When I first started going I didn’t really enjoy skating anything other than the bowl. Now, I’ve found a lot of other things that I can use to progress further outside of transition. There is definitely a lot of opportunity for ledges here although some of them have very limited run up space. The park has multiple different lines with obstacles to skate through so it doesn’t limit everyone there to one flow. Although it can get crowded pretty easily as people tend to hang around specific obstacles rather than doing lines throughout the entire park, which can be annoying when it causes congestion of people around one obstacle. Luckily the congestion is easy to work around because there is usually space to avoid it and hit a different obstacle.
